Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of sleep quality, sleep hygiene on cadet life adjustment in Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy (KAFNA).
Methods: This study was conducted from August 5 to October 31, 2019, using a self-reported questionnaire among 257 KAFNA cadets.
Results: KAFNA cadet sleep quality was 3.02¡¾0.43, sleep hygiene was 4.80¡¾0.56 and cadet life adjustment was 3.57¡¾0.44. KAFNA cadets showed lower quality of sleep and sleep hygiene than emergency medical workers and shift nurses. The lower sleep quality and sleep hygiene were negatively correlated with cadet life adjustment with statistical significance. These two factors accounted for 31.8% of cadet life adjustment.
Conclusion: The cadets cope with low sleep quality and low sleep hygiene to cadet life adjustment, and those actions can be perceived as adjustment. It is necessary to search for various variables related to sleep, which will contribute to the improvement of sleep and cadet life adjustment.
